    Dawson City Music Festival

    Description::

    Concerts and workshops at venues around the community by day. The tent hosts the biggest dance party north of 60 by night. Sit-down concerts take place throughout the weekend at the historic Palace Grand Theatre.

    Volunteers of all ages are welcome, although some restrictions do apply and some jobs are only open to volunteers who are 19 years and older. Please contact the festival office for more information.

    Frostbite Music Festival

    Description::

    Want to play the festival? Frostbite is always interested in hearing new, emerging and established Canadian and international artists!

    If you'd like to volunteer for this year's Frostbite, please send us an e-mail at frostbitemusicsociety@gmail.com. Let us know about your availability and where your talents lie and we'll get back to you. Volunteer benefits include feeling very good about yourself, admission to concerts, and exclusive invitations to parties. Plus, you often get to wear a neat Frostbite t-shirt during your shift.

    International Youth Internship Program (IYIP)

    Description:

    The International Youth Internship Program (IYIP) is an employment program for young Canadians between the ages of 19-30.

    If you’re a post-secondary graduate, you could be eligible for this chance of a lifetime to work in a developing country and contribute to Canada’s international development goals.

    Kluane Mountain Bluegrass Festival and Music Camps

    Description::

    Kluane Music Camp runs in early June each summer.

    Come join us for three days picking and grinning in the shadow of the Kluane Mountains!

    This camp is for everyone from the aspiring player to those just wanting to brush up on their skills.

    The Bluegrass Festival is entirely run by volunteers, so we're always looking for people who want to help out!

    Mae Bachur Animal Shelter & Humane Society Yukon

    Description:

    Come on out and get some fresh air and exercise and help out the Shelter dogs all at the same time! Walking a dog at the Mae Bachur Animal Shelter is a fabulous way to help out both your community and your local Shelter.

    Dog walkers must be at least 16 years of age or accompanied by someone 16 or over.

    Victoria Faulkner Women's Centre

    Description::

    If you're going through a tough time and need a woman's hand or just need information on women's issues, pay the Victoria Faulkner Women's Centre (VFWC) a visit. Use the phone, internet, laundry or shower, or stop by for Wednesday's "Community Kitchen".

    Moms and soon-to-be moms can access prenatal programming, recreational programs for moms and kids, attend talks or participate in workshops.  A suite is available for pregnant women from the rural communities.

    VFWC is always looking for young women who want to get involved. If you would like to volunteer, you will have the opportunity to help during drop-in hours, find out how the collective works, assist the summer student (or be VFWC's summer student!) or even start your own new program - the Centre belongs to you!

    Yukon Arts Centre

    Description:

    The Yukon Arts Centre depends largely on volunteers for its successful operation. We need some of your time so that we can continue to offer great shows and exhibitions to the community.

    Volunteering is a great opportunity to make new friends, see the shows, learn something along the way and have a good time.
